After x-raying Todd’s foot and assessing the severity of his injury, Dr. Joe referred Todd to a specialist in Miami for surgery. The extensive surgical repair resulted in a halo brace on the lower leg that would stay in place for five months.
Throughout this recovery period, post-surgical care of the incision and halo needle sites was critical, particularly given that Todd’s diabetic condition put him at high risk of infection.
